I wrote this blog while a Project Archivist at the Albert Gore Research Center. Using the Papers of Representative Bart Gordon, I uncovered a very interesting story about the New Horizons missions inauspicious start in Congress.

The Two Facets of Historiography

Using readings from my initial Historiography class, this paper discusses historiographical debates and broader schools of history. It is the final result of learning how to "do" history in my first semester of graduate work.

"From Inculcation to Engagement: The Evolution of American Public History" traces Public History from its elitist roots in the nineteenth century to the present-day focus on engagement.

In Public History Seminar, I worked together with Lane Tillner and Marie Walton to develop a tour of Cemetery Community at the Stones River National Battlefield. This is a script of the tour that we created.

In Essentials of Archival Management, I composed a short research paper analyzing the impact that the Lost Cause had on the creation of state-funded archival institutions at the beginning of the twentieth century.

"Lost at Sea: John K. Thornton's Atlantic World and Borderlands Historiography" is a historiographical review that focuses on "Borderlands" history and its relationship to the growing field of Atlantic World studies.

"Updating the Historiography of Early American Politics" is a historiographical review for my Readings in Early American History course in Spring 2014. It covers trends in the historiography of late seventeenth century American politics that have emerged in the twenty first century.
